At Life Between Counselling, I offer a safe, non-judgemental space where your story is truly heard. Together, we explore the in-between the space between who you are and who you want to be, between life’s challenges and the clarity you’re seeking, between head and heart.
I believe counselling is a space where your story is truly heard where we explore the journey between head and heart to help you find clarity, strength, and direction.
I’m Nadia, a qualified counsellor based in Victoria Point, working with adults from all walks of life across the Redlands and Brisbane Bayside. I’m a member of the Australian Counselling Association and have over 25 years of experience supporting people to feel confident, connected, and empowered.
The name Life Between reflects something deeply personal to me. Growth and change often happen in the in-between moments between anxiety and calm, between relationships, between love and loss, between who we are and who we believe we should be. These spaces can feel uncomfortable and uncertain, yet they also hold the greatest potential for self-discovery.
My approach is person-centred, blending empathy and authenticity with evidence-based practices such as Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), mindfulness, self-reflection tools, and values alignment work. Together, we’ll challenge negative self-beliefs, develop emotional regulation skills, and build a positive self-image that allows you to live authentically.
I draw from my own lived experiences of life’s rough seasons grief, loss, family breakdown, trauma, and the rebuilding process giving me a deep empathy for clients facing anxiety, stress, burnout, relationship struggles, or a crisis of self-worth. I know the courage it takes to make change, and I believe no one should have to go through that journey alone.
Whether in person or online, my goal is for you to feel celebrated, accepted, and empowered to discover and embrace your best self.
Life doesn’t always give us space to stop, reflect, and catch our breath. When anxiety, stress, low self-esteem, or burnout take hold, it can feel impossible to find your footing.
Through individual counselling, I offer a safe and supportive environment where you can:
Using a person-centred approach alongside CBT and mindfulness, we’ll work together to help you feel more in control of your emotions, more connected to yourself, and more confident in your day-to-day life.
Relationships can be a source of deep connection or deep frustration. When communication breaks down or emotional distance grows, it’s easy to feel unheard, misunderstood, or disconnected.
In relationship counselling, I create a space where each person can speak openly, be heard without judgement, and learn tools for:
I work with couples, partners, and co-parents to strengthen their connection, repair old hurts, and build a more supportive and respectful relationship.
When emotions feel overwhelming, they can take over leading to reactive behaviour, anxiety spirals, and self-doubt.
I help clients develop emotional awareness and practical skills to:
These skills allow you to live more in the present moment, reduce the power of anxiety, and build a self-image you can truly lean into.
Change even when it’s positive can stir up uncertainty, grief, or a loss of direction. Whether it’s a career change, parenting shift, relationship change, or personal reinvention, I provide space to explore:
Life transitions are opportunities to step into your authentic self. Together, we can make the in-between feel less daunting and more empowering.
Grief changes us. It can make the world feel unfamiliar, leaving us unsure how to move forward.
Whether you’re coping with the loss of a loved one, a relationship, health, a dream, or a part of your identity, I offer a compassionate, safe space to:
Grief has no timeline, and there’s no “right” way to heal. My role is to walk alongside you as you find your own way through.
Where your story is heard without judgement, and you can be your true self.
Guidance and understanding during times of change, uncertainty, and growth.
Meeting you with empathy, presence, and deep respect for your experience.
Combining evidence-based practices with warmth and intuition to support your whole self.
Feeling safe, seen and heard is the foundation of meaningful change. At Life Between Counselling, I create a warm, respectful environment where you can share openly, explore without judgement, and feel truly understood. Through a balance of professional expertise and genuine human connection, I help you navigate life’s challenges with compassion, clarity, and care.
Taking the first step can feel daunting, but it’s also the most important. Whether you call, email, or use the online booking system, you’ll be met with warmth and understanding from the very first contact. This is your opportunity to share what’s brought you here and to ask any questions you may have.
Your first session is about getting to know you your story, your challenges, and your goals. We’ll talk about what you hope to gain from counselling and explore the approaches that may best support you. This is also a chance for you to experience my style and see if it feels like the right fit for you.
Every person is different, so your sessions will be shaped around your needs, preferences, and pace. Using a person-centred approach with evidence-based therapies like CBT, mindfulness, and narrative techniques, we’ll work on practical strategies while creating space for reflection and insight.
Counselling is a journey, and I’m here to walk alongside you for as long as you need. As you gain clarity, confidence, and coping skills, we’ll adjust our focus to support your continued growth. The aim is for you to leave each session feeling more empowered, self-aware, and connected to your authentic self.
Your first session is a chance for us to get to know each other. We’ll talk about what’s brought you to counselling, the challenges you’re facing, and the goals you’d like to work towards. I’ll explain how I work and answer any questions you have, so you can feel comfortable and clear about the process. There’s no pressure this is your space to share as much or as little as you feel ready to.
Most sessions run for 50 minutes, giving us enough time to explore your concerns and work through strategies without feeling rushed. Longer sessions can be arranged if needed, particularly for couples or when working through more complex issues.
Yes. You can easily book an appointment online at a time that suits you. Once you’ve booked, you’ll receive confirmation details, and if your session is online, you’ll also receive a secure link to join. If you prefer, you can also book by phone or email.
Absolutely. Everything you share in counselling is treated with the highest level of confidentiality, in line with professional ethics and legal requirements. The only exceptions are if there is a risk of harm to yourself or others, or if disclosure is required by law and even then, I will discuss this with you wherever possible.
I use a person-centred approach combined with evidence-based therapies including Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), mindfulness practices, narrative therapy, solution focus and strengths-based techniques. This means we’ll tailor the process to suit your unique needs, personality, and goals, so you feel supported in a way that works for you.
This depends on your needs, goals, and circumstances. Some clients find weekly sessions helpful to build momentum, while others prefer fortnightly or monthly appointments. We’ll discuss what feels right for you during your first session, and you can adjust the frequency as your needs change.
